Abstract: Energy security cooperation between China and ASEAN has been carried out in realistic and institutional level, but met some obstacles, such as export restriction on energy product, threaten to the security of the energy transport corridor, and international direction of the issue of South China Sea. The role of international law should be emphasized in protecting China's cooperation with ASEAN in energy field, especially the treaty system of United Nations, the agreements of WTO and CAFTA, ECT and NAFTA agreement.
